A dramatic backsplash of bookmatched granite slabs forms the focal point behind a Viking range. The kitchen has a center island with a microwave hidden on the far side; two warming drawers make entertaining easy. Twin hidden cabinets are cleverly disguised behind recessed panels on either side of the cooktop. Not pictured is a pendant light by David Trubridge, which hangs above a round, granite-topped tulip table in the eating space. The box window, set flush to the countertop, provides abundant natural light.
